A high-speed chase in Contra Costa County ended in a crash involving a police vehicle. The incident began when Lafayette police responded to a robbery at a fast-food restaurant. Shortly after, a suspect's vehicle was spotted by an officer and a pursuit ensued. The chase led onto San Pablo Dam Road, where the suspect vehicle crashed into another car and a police vehicle.
The crash resulted in the closure of a section of San Pablo Dam Road for several hours. Two suspects, identified as Jajuan Ojeda and Aevra Traylor, were taken into custody. Both suspects had warrants for their arrest and face charges including child endangerment and robbery. A seven-year-old child was in the suspect's car during the crash, but it is unclear if they were injured.
The driver of the civilian car involved in the crash was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The investigation is ongoing, and details about any injuries sustained are not yet clear.
