Accident on Shasta
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a single-vehicle crash near Whiskeytown Lake that resulted in multiple people being sent to the hospital and caused significant delays on Highway 299. The incident involved a Ford F-150, whose driver was reportedly fluctuating speeds while heading east on Hwy 299 before veering off the roadway. The driver apparently over-corrected, leading the vehicle to turn off the road and down a steep embankment. After the crash, four individuals were transported to a local hospital with possible serious or major injuries. In response, CHP officers are conducting two-way traffic control near the crash site to manage the flow of vehicles until the scene is cleared.
