Fatal Crash on Highway 242
A tragic accident occurred Sunday morning on southbound Highway 242 near Concord, California, resulting in the death of one driver. The incident, involving two vehicles, a BMW SUV, and a Ford sedan, took place around 7:36 a.m. close to Clayton Road. According to investigators from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision claimed the life of the driver of the Ford sedan, who was identified as Cassandra Spain, a 62-year-old resident of Santa Rosa.
The authorities were notified of the crash promptly, and upon arrival at the scene, they found the driver of the Ford sedan fatally injured. Despite immediate medical attention, Cassandra Spain was pronounced dead at the location of the accident. Fortunately, the driver of the BMW SUV emerged from the collision unharmed.
In light of this tragic incident, the CHP has initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
