Chaotic Clash in Antioch
A tumultuous event unfolded in Antioch on Tuesday evening, resulting in one person being injured amidst an assault, shooting, and subsequent car crash. According to authorities from the Antioch Police Department, the incident transpired at the junction of East 18th Street and Hillcrest Avenue around 6:50 p.m. following reports of gunfire and a traffic collision.
The police report indicates that the chain of events commenced with an assault occurring in a nearby parking lot. Two males reportedly attacked another male, prompting the victim to retrieve a handgun from his vehicle and fire at the assailants as they fled the scene in their car. In an attempt to evade the gunfire, the assailants executed a U-turn against a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision with another vehicle traveling east on East 18th Street.
Following the collision, the assailants, along with the shooter, fled the scene and remained at large as of Wednesday. The driver of the vehicle struck during the incident was subsequently transported to a hospital after complaining of pain.
