Tragic Long Beach Crash
In a tragic incident on a Sunday evening, two men lost their lives when their vehicle crashed and plunged into 10 feet of water in Long Beach, as reported by local authorities. The devastating accident occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. in the vicinity of Studebaker Road, just south of Loynes Drive.
The exact cause of the SUV losing control remains unclear, but it is believed to have struck a center divider on the road before careening over the side and into the waters of the Los Cerritos Channel. Swiftly responding to the emergency call, firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes, discovering the submerged vehicle.
Upon assessing the situation, divers and a specialized search-and-rescue team were deployed to retrieve the victims. They located one man in the water and promptly initiated CPR efforts. Despite their valiant attempts, the victim was ultimately pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Tragically, a second man was found trapped inside the submerged vehicle. The rescue team successfully freed him and brought him to the surface, but he too was pronounced dead upon receiving medical attention.

An eyewitness who was driving in the area at the time reported that it seemed the vehicle may have been speeding and, at one point, came dangerously close to colliding with her own car before swerving and overcorrecting.
