Clovis Police remained at the scene on Sunday afternoon at K1 Speed in Clovis, where an 18-year-old man was shot on Saturday night. Responding to calls of gunfire and then a car accident around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, police said the incident occurred in the parking lot on the southeast side of the shopping center near K1 Speed (formerly known as MB2 Raceway). They arrived and discovered that a shooting had taken place, but the victim was no longer at the scene. Police learned that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital by several people who were at the scene. Clovis Police has identified the victim as an adult male who has since been treated and released from the hospital. Clovis police said they are trying to determine what led to the shooting. "It was discovered that three suspects were at the scene before the shooting. They were described as wearing hoodies and masks to conceal their identity. Unfortunately, we do not have any further description of them at this time," said Corporal Kory Vitato of the Clovis Police Department. The fallen tree due to the car accident can still be seen. Clovis police remained in the area, ensuring that visitors to the Sierra Vista shopping center are safe. Kristie Bonner has just moved to Clovis but has been visiting the area for decades. She said she was talking to a coworker about the incident, and he shared the shocking information with her. "I was telling him, 'yes, someone got shot in Clovis,' and he said, 'yes, it was right near my house,'" Bonner said. Clovis police believe this was an isolated incident.
