Accident in Madera leaves motorcyclist hospitalized

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after being rear-ended by an allegedly drunk driver in Madera County, California. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday on Avenue 9 near Highway 35, south of Madera Ranchos. According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a 39-year-old man riding his motorcycle began to slow down to make a turn when a 24-year-old man driving a Tesla couldn't stop in time, crashing into him from behind with significant force. The impact was devastating, causing the Tesla to veer off the road and crash into a fence before overturning. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained serious injuries and was urgently transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. On the other hand, the Tesla driver, identified as a 24-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the accident. However, his ordeal didn't end there, as he was arrested at the scene under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities confirmed.
