[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]New Years Eve and New Years Day are two of the deadliest holidays on the roads, and the main reason is alcohol-impaired driving. About five times as many people are killed in drunk driving car crashes on New Years Day than an average day. The hours between 6 p.m. New Years Even and 6 a.m. New Years Day are especially treacherous.
While planning your New Years celebrations, consider taking precautions if you are going to be on the roadways.
- If you or your party will be consuming alcohol, designate a sober driver
- Do not allow anyone who has been drinking to get behind the wheel
- Consider staying the night at your destination
- If hosting a party, help arrange transportation and/or lodging ahead of time
- If you see a drunk driver on the road, notify authorities
